WHIR - Upgrading at QB from Romo - WHIR

Postby sm28185 » Wed Sep 21, 2011 10:10 pm

I feel as though I'm pretty deep at RB right now and think I should look for an upgrade elsewhere, particularly at QB. I've got Romo, so I figure the only guys to consider are Brady, Rodgers, Brees, and Rivers (in order). I know the guy with Rodgers won't give him up without a ridiculous trade and feel like Brees might be a long shot. Are any of the proposals below crazy (from both sides)?

WHIR - Just post the links in your response

Offers I'm thinking about would be:
1) Romo and Thomas for any of the three (2 for 1)
2) Romo and Lloyd/Moss for Brady and Boldin or Rivers and Wells or Brees and Jones
2) Romo and Jackson for the same pairs in #2

12-Team Head-to-Head League with 4 pts for passing TDs, 0.04 points for every passing yard, and 0.1 points for every rushing yard. 2 RB, 2 WR, and 1 RB/TE/WR.

My team as it stands now:
QB - Tony Romo
RB - Michael Turner, Ahmad Bradshaw
Flex - Fred Jackson
WR - Roddy White, Brandon Lloyd
TE - Fred Davis
Bench - Daniel Thomas, Delone Carter, Ricky Williams, Santana Moss, Kellen Winslow, Chad Ochocinco

Team 2 (Brady)
QB - Tom Brady
RB - Chris Johnson, Peyton Hillis
Flex - Marshawn Lynch
WR - Anquan Boldin, Johnny Knox
TE - Owen Daniels
Bench - Marques Colston, Hines Ward, Nate Washington, Kyle Orton, Giants D, Cadillac Williams

Team 3 (Rivers) - got hurt by the J. Charles injury
QB - Philip Rivers
RB - Beanie Wells, Roy Helu
Flex - Danny Woodhead
WR - Dwayne Bowe, Mohammed Massaquoi
TE - Dustin Keller
Bench - Knowshon Moreno, Pierre Thomas, Pierre Garcon, Lance Moore, Jacquizz Rodgers, Josh Freeman

Team 4 (Brees)
QB - Drew Brees
RB - Rashard Mendenhall, BenJarvus Green-Ellis
Flex - Plaxico Burress
WR - DeSean Jackson, Steve Johnson
TE - Dallas Clark
Bench - Jonathan Stewart, Jordy Nelson, Jay Cutler, Ronnie Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, Thomas Jones

The only way anything like that would happen is A. they are dumb or B. You would be giving Romo and Jackson for one of those QBs mentioned alone, even then its a long shot.

Not many are going to downgrade from an elite QB to an above average QB for a slightly above average RB or WR (which is what all the people you mentioned trading are with Jackson/Lloyd at the top of the list) unless they are in dire need of that position.

By glancing at their rosters some of could be in need of those positions but it still would require some luck.

Btw I'm peronlly not a huge fan of Jackson and don't think he will finish near the pace he is currently going but I'm sure others may like him much more than me.

Either way, Romo + Jackson represents your best bet at acquiring a stud QB and I'd essentially offer it in order of your favorite choices and see who bites.
