WR vs. RB Help

Postby steel city princess » Fri Sep 23, 2011 3:56 pm

New to the forum and Fantasy Football. It's only been 2 weeks and I am ready to rip my hair out. My benched receiver has out performed my starting receivers both weeks. Steve Smith (CAR) on week 1 so I swap out Maclin for him on week 2 and wow there's 42 points....on my bench. So now this week I plan to start both guys. This should solve my problems right? Well not so much with Steve Jackson as my running back. My league doesn't have a flex option, but allows 1 RB and 3 receivers (or vice versa.) I am pretty sure I want to sit Jax due to injury status even if he does play. Now do I start a 3rd receiver or keep the 2 RB/2 WR format? The choice is Mike Williams (SEA) or Reggie Wayne (who I started weeks 1 & 2) everything I am reading about Mike Williams' history vs Cards is swaying my opinion even though he has done nothing yet. Colts going against Steeler D seems like a no brainer 'sit Wayne down' answer - but what if the week 1 Steeler D shows up?? Or do I just go with RB Ryan Grant - who is really just taking up bench space thus far? Or do I wait until Sunday and start Jax if he plays?? Thoughts would be so very appreciated. I have yet to break 75 points or win a game!! I did just drop TE B. Watson for F. Davis, so I hope that helps me out a bit too.

Roster (caps = starter):
QB: M. VICK / S. Bradford
WR: S. SMITH/J. MACLIN / M. Williams / R. Wayne
RB: A. BRADSHAW / S. Jackson / R. Grant / C. Williams
TE: F. DAVIS / Z. Miller
DST: RAVENS / Chiefs

I do THINK Wayne is going to do much this week, but I KNOW Williams is going to do even less. Start Wayne

Welcome to the Cafe'. I like all of your starters in Caps and I would add Wayne. Tough matchup, but he gets alot of targets and is your best option. Good luck ;-D

- nice move picking up Fred Davis

It would take more than just one mediocre game (4 receptions / 66 yards) for me to consider benching Wayne. The steelers D looked very beatable week 1. As a rule, I try and not give up on my proven studs too early.

Good luck!
