Mike Thomas is on waivers, who do I drop?

Postby karl0528 » Sun Sep 25, 2011 8:03 am

This is in my CBS.com money league. Who do I drop?
--Candidates--
1) Marion Barber: I start 2 Rb's a week and I have 3 studs ahead of him: Forte, AP, and Blount. This seems the most reasonable.
2) Mike Sims-Walker: I know he's the go to guy now, well supposedly he is but it looks like Bradford likes to spread the ball while Thomas is pretty much the only option at WR in Jacksonville.

I have Johnny Knox, Stevie Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Boldin as my other WR options and I think picking up MT will solidify my WR corp. Please leave a link with your feedback and I will return the favor. Thanks in advance and good luck to you this week!!

I dont think Barber is worth much, but I also dont think Thomas is either. If you really want him then drop Barber.

I would need to know a little bit more about your lineup requirements to better understand the trade-off and if it is a PPR league. However; Thomas is a buy low candidate right now given the uncertainty at the QB position. I had targeted Thomas in PPR leagues with WR3 upside and now I am just hanging tight and holding on to him. Personally I would hang tight on Sims-Walker for now; there is potential there.

The reason I like Barber (partially due to the fact that I'm a meatball Bears fan LOL) besides having the handcuff to forte, I think that when he is healthy he will get the ball in the redzone as he can plow through guys. After watching him in person at training camp I was impressed and took him as a late rd flyer.

It's a non PPR league, so perhaps I'm just best off holding w/ what I have.

Since it is not a PPR league; I would take a wait and see approach on Thomas before altering your desired game plan with the handcuff strategy. Sometimes just going with your original plan is better than altering it based on preseason projections as compared to the reality that the Jaqs are struggling.
