I havent seen this guy play yet, but Gore obviously isnt getting it done. Is it a Gore issue or an O-line issue? What are his chances for getting more carries by the 2nd half of the year?
Gore did tweak his ankle this week, but not sure if he'll be out though. Hunter looks good thus far and is definitely worth a stash on how thin rb is this year.
does anybody think he would be worthy of using a #1 waiver in a 14 team league with good owners? Not a whole lot available. Just dont know what to think of this guy going forward. What are his chances of being something similar to this years Torrain?
Definitely a stretch. The Niners paid Gore, and have always been a prettly loyal organization (see Alex Smith still having a job)
Hunter is a flier pick, but would only have value if Gore suffered a significant health setback. Gore will continue to sniff 20 carries a game when healthy.
Gore isn't the problem, it's really the O-Line and total lack of vertical passing game. Thank god for him SF has a good D, or he would be hangin at the very back of the RB bus with Marshawn Lynch.
RotoWorld According to FOX Sports' John Czarnecki, "it sounds like (Frank) Gore will be inactive due to a bad ankle." This chimes with Saturday's report from CSN Bay Area's Matt Maiocco, who said it's not even a given that Gore (ankle, questionable) would be active Sunday. Kendall Hunter is in line to carry the rock if Gore is indeed sidelined, making for a nice fantasy play against Philadelphia's 30th ranked run defense. Even if Gore suits up, Hunter could see 10-to-15 touches.
Those ankle injuries have a way of lingering, and Gore just isn't getting it done. I just picked up Hunter because I think SF will find ways to ignite their running game today with hunter, and if he performs, I think he gets a fair share of touches the rest of the way.

I guess you could be right... It would just create yet another RB combo that makes fantasy even harder.

NFL Network's Albert Breer and ESPN's Sal Paolantonio both report that Frank Gore (ankle, questionable) will start Sunday against the Eagles. Earlier this morning, FOX Sports' John Czarnecki wrote that Gore would be inactive. We feel much more comfortable trusting the two well-connected reporters on this one. Though Gore is likely to suit up and start, there's a big question mark surrounding his ability to be effective. Rookie Kendall Hunter figures to have an increased role as Gore's backup, and may even get more touches.
