Trading Hightower. WHIR 100%

Postby mzkp54 » Thu Sep 29, 2011 1:44 pm

I was just offered the following trade:

I give:

I receive:
Mark Ingram, Mario Manningham, Michael Jenkins

League is 12 teams, PPR with 2 flex spots.

My team:

QB- Fitzpatrick
RB- Lesean Mccoy, Tim Hightower
WR- Andre Johnson, Mike Williams
TE- Gates?
W/R- Julio Jones
W/T- D Moore

Bench: Roethlisberger, Tolbert, Henderson, Ward, Cruz, Chandler, R Brown

His team:
QB- Vick
RB- Forte, Ingram
WR- Marshall, Bryant
TE- Olsen
W/R- AJ Green
W/T- Manningham

Bench- Lynch, Fred Davis, Tate, Colt McCoy, M Jenkins, Massoquoi

My initial gut response was to say no. But I'm wondering more about it. Manningham and Ingram were both rated higher than Hightower in the preseason, although Hightower is significantly outproducing both of them. If Manningham can live up to his expectations, I'd love to not have to start Williams as WR2 until he comes out of the slump. The problem is this would leave me pretty weak at RB2, with Tolbert and Ingram as my main options. However, I also know that Hightower could lose touches as the season goes on. What do you think about the trade? Would you counter?

Leave a link and I'll definitely return the favor.

Thanks in advance.

Meh, its not a terrible trade, but I'd say no. I don't like where that leaves your RB depth, and I see Hightower continuing to produce throughout the season. I don't trust anyone on the Giants offense, and this is coming from a Nicks' owner.

i don't mind the deal actually, though it's basically banking on hightower losing his job eventually.

if that happens, you destroy him in this deal.

manningham should be healthy soon and if ingram starts getting more carries, you definitely benefit.
however, if ingram doesn't, you're kind of screwed.

while i'd say the deal is even, i don't think you can take the risk.

lil help on mine
