CRITICAL FLEX/TE OPTION? WHO IS IT? WHIR

Postby ckeenza » Thu Sep 29, 2011 9:55 pm

I'm in a standard league...

1.I have the option of playing Daniel Thomas vs. SD (good run defense) or Jeremy Maclin vs. SF (lacking in secondary)...I like Thomas right now but hoping Slaton doesn't steal carries (because Reggie already does that) and SD could possibly shut him down. Maclin is iffy on the injury stuff but assuming he plays, he most likely has Vick under center and they will probably look to throw vs. SF.

2. I can't decide between Dallas Clark vs. TB or Fred Davis vs. StL...Clark has been pretty abysmal, mostly due to team, and he even sits out plays for a better pass-blocking TE now. Only reason I see improvement this week is because Painter may bring about a more colts-style offense, a.k.a feed Clark. Fred Davis had a monster first 2 weeks and the only issue here is that Cooley is back in the picture, yet StL defense is seemingly a joke.

With (1) I'm looking for the safe play, but since (2) is so close I'd probably wanna play more upside. Thoughts?

1) Maybe I'm just jealous because I don't have any stud WR, bu I would certainly start Maclin (of course assuming he's healthy) even if Vick get knocked out the back ups have proven themselves enough that they'd be able to deliver to Maclin

2) Go with Davis, can't trust Indy QBs. but if you have addai.....

I would definitely play Davis over Clark. As you said, abysmal = Clark. i think he has a better game this week, but I still couldn't trust him over a pretty decent performer like Davis.

In non PPR, I would play Thomas over Maclin. PHI receivers have a tendency to have big game, no show, big game, no show. I would play the solid RB rather than take any risks in playing a WR. I wouldn't worry at all about Thomas losing carries.

Thanks on mine.

I always start a RB over a WR because of for certain touches, but thats just me. And fred davis is going to be the best option for Grossman because he will not have much time to throw deep. He'll be looking for davis often.

#2 is easy ... Davis is your choice here.

as for #1 ... I actually dont like either option this week, Maclin, even if he does play is not only going to be banged up, but he prob wont get full play time. and as for D. Thomas, like you said, he is up against a tough run-d, and there is a chance he will be sharing carries, but he still is the feature back. Im actually leaning a little more towards Thomas for this week. Do you not have any others on your bench to choose from, or on the WW?

Best of luck!

help a brotha out ...
