FF Theory - Bad to start RB again my own DEF?

Postby BrandonSi » Fri Sep 30, 2011 7:12 am

I'm not sure if there's a rule of thumb here or not.. I have Jahvid Best as my RB2 (DET), but he's playing my DEF (DAL). So everytime he socres, part of those points are going to get counteracted by my loss of points on DEF. I like his matchup better than anyone else.. so I'm not sure what to do.. I think DAL is pretty decent.. should I drop them, and pick up someone else?

HOU, ARI, WAS, TB are all available..

RB1 - Ray Rice (Bal - RB)
RB2 - Jahvid Best (Det - RB)
DEF - Dallas (Dal - DEF)

BENCH
Steven Jackson (StL - RB)
Beanie Wells (Ari - RB)
James Starks (GB - RB)

Thanks!!

Typically you don't want to start a defense going against one of your top players. But on top of that, I would not start Best over Steven Jackson or Beanie Wells. And I would always pick defenses based of matchups if you do not have a top 3 D. (which the Cowboys are not) A decent defense (like the Cowboys) against a good offense like Detroit is not a good matchup, especially when Tampa is playing the Colts. Switching defenses and kickers based off matchups is a smart play.
