Help with my starting line up

Postby F-Bomb » Wed Sep 04, 2002 10:32 am

I'm in a 10 team league that starts 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 RB or WR, 1 TE, 1 K, and 1 DF/ST. My dilema is which combination of RB/WRs to start. E James/D. McAllister are starting. I need to start three of the following:

Antwoin Smith v. Pitts.
E. Moulds v. Jets
P. Burress v. NE
D. Jackson v. Oak
R. Gardner v. Az
A. Freeman v. Tenn
D'Wayne Bates v. Chi

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ;-D

Who to start?

I would start Burress based on the matchup alone. The secondary in New England is getting longer and longer in the tooth. He should burn some of their old men.

moulds and burress are definates. smith may be the next best choice normally but not againt the steelers. i wouldnt pick bates or freeman. that leaves jackson and gardner. gardner plays with spurrier againt arizona. jackson plays without dilfer against the raiders. close one but id start gardner.

moulds, burresss, and gardner.

My Opinion

Freeman is going to be getting alot of gift receptions vs Tenn ... I picked him up in most of my leagues and am starting him Week 1.

Moulds has the biggest upside ... if Bledsoe is on his game, Moulds will see the majority of WR work.

Anyone who thinks Burress is going to have an easy time is severely under-rating one of the best secondaries in the league. Kordell struggles against the Pats, and I really don't see Burress getting anything but a few dump passes. Remember that when Kordell will be looking for Burress (when he's buried and hurried by Pats defenders), he won't be able to see the dbs positioning for the interceptions. I am big on Burress, but not in this matchup.

These receivers, between team strength, quarterback skill, and game matchups, are all pretty even, so why take the guy (Burress) who's facing the most difficult of the 3 defenses?
