Help on RB no Ray Rice

Postby robotninja » Tue Oct 04, 2011 4:00 pm

So hopefully Beanie can have another monster day and easily step up from RB2 to RB1 this week, but that leaves a slot to fill behind him.

I have

JStew vs NO has consistantly been getting 50% of the touches in Car and 8-10 pts a week

Bernard Scott @Jac IF Benson gets suspended then I think he is the clear favorite based matchup and being the lead back

Ryan Grant @ Atl Another split backfield but he was really good vs Bears before a week off with injury, could be like Beanies explosion...

Stevan Ridley vs NYJ could be a 1 week wonder, tough matchup on paper but in reality teams have been running on the jets, probably highest risk.

Just added Isaac Redman in case mendenhall sits but may be a game day decision.

Let me know what you think, leave a link will help in return.

What is New Orleans D-line like this year? I might stay away from J-Stew this week for the reasons you mentioned, plus I think they'll be airing out the ball this week. And Cam has been steeling goal line TD's from him.

I may go Beanie & Grant.

Whatever you do, please don't listen to the previous poster and rely on Ryan Grant! Don't ever settle on starting Ryan Grant because unless James Starks gets injured, Grant has little to no value. He's nothing more than a recognizable name at this point..

And you're right... your situation is almost identical to mine.. I also have Ray Rice on bye, Beanie, just picked up Redman in case mendy doesn't play, and have options to get Stewart or Scott on waivers... just like you.. LOL

This is what I'm probably gonna do and would suggest you do the same: Set your lineup right before kickoff on Sunday... wait to the last minute and see if Mendenhall plays. There's a lot of "if's but then's" in this scenario, so I hope I don't confuse you with my answer...

If Mendenhall doesn't play, roll with Beanie and Redman

If Mendenhall plays and Benson is ruled out, roll with Beanie and Bernard Scott

If Mendenhall plays and Benson plays, roll with Beanie and Stewart (maybe even Ridley if you're a gambling man)

i would avoid ridley, just cause of an amazing performance on week 4 does not mean he will do amazing this week against the jets. i mean he kind of a rookie. his first career TD was in week 4.

I would avoid grant also since starks is returning this week

I would go with scott this week.
