Postby handslikesecrets » Tue Oct 04, 2011 9:30 pm

Do I trade away AP for Forte and Jimmy Graham? What about if he also throws in Sidney Rice?
Here is my current team. There are ten teams in our league.

RB- Adrian Peterson, Vikings
RB- Steven Jackson, Rams
RB/WR= Benjarvus Green-Ellis, Pats
WR- Calvin Johnson, Lions
WR- Dwayne Bowe, Chiefs
TE- Jermichael Finley, Packers
D- Jets
K- David Akers

(B) RB- Benjarvus Green-Ellis, Pats
(B) RB- C.J. Spiller, Bills
(B) RB- Beanie Wells, Cardinals
(B) WR- Torrey Smith
(B) WR- Robert Meachem, Saints
(B) WR- Deion Branch, Pats

This is a basic trading philosophy I like to adhere to. Don't downgrade a starter to improve your bench. It's just a losing approach. Forte is playing wonderfully. But I still want AP. And why would you want Graham if you have Finley? It doesn't really matter how many guys are thrown in on the other side - if they're going on your bench, I don't like it.

So to sum up ... no, I wouldn't do it.

i agree w/ schmidty. if this is a PPR league then you could make a case that forte is better or at least more consistent than AP but otherwise you are diluting your starters to improve your bench. and i also agree its dumb to go for graham when you already have finley. if you could line up a second trade where you turn graham and rice into a starter upgrade elsewhere then id strongly consider it but in a vacuum this trade does not improve your starting lineup
