alright :) that makes me feel a little better. we have 8 of 10 teams going into the playoffs, its a little much but oh well. i hope the coding isn't messed up all the way around so that even tho someone was eliminated after they got the start they still get it.

Doubt it. It is much more difficult to write a program to figure out who should get an * than it is to see who has the best record followed by most points.

I'm sure he only has the astrerisk BECAUSE of all theteams still in the running, HE HAS THE MOST POINTS, so they consider him a lock. however, he coudl get kicked out if after next week he doesn't have the most points.

I bet that one of the teams that is not in playoff position has more points than your team RIGHT NOW, which is why you don't have an *.

Hmm, that's intersting. It doesn't say that in mine. Hey anon, do you question any of the *'s in your league? Or do they all seem proper? I wonder if they don't give the little explanation that the * is only supposed to act as "projected".

No asterisk explanation in any of my 4 Yahoo leagues, either.
Each of the four leagues allots 4 playoff teams:
League 1: 2 stars, but 3 teams tied for 3rd
League 2: 4 stars; 5th place team mathematically still in it, but 1 game and 70 points back
League 3: 4 stars, 5th and 6th place teams still in it, but 1 game and 170+ points back
League 4: 3 stars, only 1/2 game between 4th and 5th

What does this mean? Who knows? Looks like predicted playoff spots, but definitely not guaranteed. Maybe, the program has decided that 50+ points is too much to overcome?

i am at home now and can verify this. it says

* = clinched playoff spot

this league is a fantasy football plus league so i don't know if that is an extra - seems lame to have the asterik being explained be an extra. anyway, it is right right now. when the asteriks were first put on there, one of the teams had an asterik that shouldn't have - but it is gone now.

Yep, mine has been corrected also. Must have been a little improper logic in the yahoo system.

In one of my leagues there are 2 asterisks on 2 people locked in the playoffs. There is also a 3rd person locked in the playoffs who does not have one.
