PPR league: James Starks for Eric Decker? WHIR

Postby GreenBowlPackers » Wed Oct 05, 2011 12:22 pm

Receptions: 0.5 pts
Yards: 10=1pt, 3 pt bonuses at 100/150/200
TDs: 6

I have Starks.

QB Rivers
WR1 Fitzgerald
WR 2 Marshall
RB1 Forte
RB2 Fred Jackson
TE Keller
WR/TE Boldin
Flex Cutler

Bench
Starks
Dalton
Gates
LawFirm
Ridley
McCluster

I need a WR for this week with Marshall, Boldin, and Gates not playing for Week 5. Slim pickins in FA in this league.

Thanks for you reply on my Holmes post!

I would say Decker needs to be universally own, any format.

Also, I kinda have feelings towards GB's backfield like you do with NO receivers. I dont trust Grant or Starks.

I'd take Decker since you're in need of a WR. I don't think Starks will supplant your starting RBs splitting with Grant or be much improvement over your current backup RBs.

Plus, Decker was targeted 10 times with Lloyd in the lineup. He could be of use to you beyond this week if he keeps getting looks like that.

oooh this is tough. i think you have to do it, although i really love starks long-term this season. grant will break down again, it gets cold in GB, they cannot pass forever, and he's too talented to keep off the field. you desperately need WR depth tho. pull the trigger.

I would 100% pick up Decker and drop James Starks. You have a pretty decent fill of running backs and Eric Decker and Orton have some great endzone chemistry. Until Tim Tebow becomes the new QB, I'm a big fan of Decker.

Should I drop anyone to stash Hasselback or Redman?

I don't see starks as anything more than your 4th RB option. You start 2 WR and 2 RB but you have that WR/TE position so i'd say pile up on the WR. Decker is sticking around and will be more valuable for the flexibility of your lineup.

I would go ahead and do the trade, Decker has shaped up to be a good #2 option in Denver, while neither Starks nor Grant has really done consistently well for GB. Starks would only be there for bye weeks and you have BJGE/Ridley to help with there, so you really don't need Starks as much as you could use Decker.

Don't really have a need for Starks with your RB depth, so I'd do it...

Thanks for the help on mine,

I'd do the trade if I were you. Starks is just going to be a bye-week fill in for you.
