Sorry to "get serious" here, but ...
Whether you're to the "left" or the "right", Republican, Democrat, or somewhere in between. There's no question - we all want our troops home as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, some estimates show the U.S. in Iraq for the remainder of this decade.
Just how far should the U.S. be willing to go given the situation in Iraq, the cost, terrorism around the world, and security at home?
At the risk of "starting a war" here at the Cafe,
thanks for your vote and opinions.
I'm very interested in this.

I'll give you the short version. We did our part now its time to go. charity begins in the home and here at home (USA) we should help ourselfs out and worry about our own homeless (no pun intended) and out of work Americans, rather then Iraqies.
Let them rebuild on their own, we took care of their former leader and freed them. What more do they want?
Tell me who helped this country declare its freedom?...thats right we did it on our own, I don't care what the time period was, we still did it.
T.S. - "You don't have to love me, but you will RESPECT me"
I am quite opinionated as you can tell since my name is on almost every thread here... I am not in favor of doing something halfway. We got in there and freed the people and we should finish the job. We shouldn't go in, get them out of Saddam Insane's hands and then let them go. There are plenty of lunitics in that country still who want to have power. We need to get a system set up or we will be in there again and will lose more lives in another decade or so. I want our troops home as I know of some there or about to be there, but I think we need to finish the job.
THanks to our President sending troops to protect us we have the freedom to be on this site stating our opinions and talkin about FF.
In Iraq you couldn't even pray without Saddam's henchman killing you or tourturing you, we did a good thing ousting Saddam and I think our soldiers need to stay there because if we leave Saddam's men (or him) will come back and take over then we will have to do it all over again.

I have to agree with MZimm and The Super Freak on this one. I don't think any of the men or women in the military would want to do something half a@#ed! We went in to remove Saddam, we need to at least try and get some order back. I don't think we should be involved in everything and if they could all just blow themselves apart, that would be great, but that won't happen. I wish we didn't have to be there, but we are and I think we need to finish what we started. If not, another 911 could very easily happen. Just my opinion!
IMO? In a nut shell?
The Iraqis hated the United States yesterday.
The Iraqis hate the United States today.
The Iraqis will hate the United States tomorrow.
Regardless of how long we're there, or how much $ we spend, or how many die ... the "dream" of a democratic Iraq with a good relationship with the U.S. is just that. A dream.
Ain't ever gonna happen, IMO - and that's my only "2 cents" here.
Promise.
Agree or disagree.
I'm much more interested in YOUR comments.
