Hi all -
Today, I got offered Miles Austin for Darren Sproles in a 12 team league. I'm 2-2 and only 4 teams go to the playoffs, so wins are crucial, but it's still early. Here are the relevant positions on my team:
RB: Adrian Peterson
RB: Darren McFadden
RB/WR: Darren Sproles
WR: Brandon Lloyd
WR: Eric Decker
BN: Peyton Hillis
BN: Brandon Jacobs
BN: Michael Bush
BN: Victor Cruz
BN: Pierre Garcon
A couple things to note:
1. You do get some points for return yardage in this league. So Sproles in this league has scored 66.6, good enough for 7th best RB. In standard leagues, Sproles has only scored 54, or 10th best.
2. Similarly, Decker has scored 60 pts in this league, or 4th best WR. In standard, he has 54, or 7th best. Although it would seem he may not be returning kicks/punts anymore (?)
3. RB Depth comes at a premium in this league - there are no free agent options. So to have Hillis or Sproles as my 4th RB is nice, but points on the bench won't get you anything. Then again, if one of my RBs goes down to injury, instead of having Hillis, I'm stuck with Brandon Jacobs (yuck).
Hillis is on bye this week so Sproles helps me out now, but would I be better off subbing in Austin for Lloyd or Decker? Maybe I luck out and Garcon or Cruz actually become something, then I have too much WR depth and no RB depth? But then Miles Austin is such a stud. But what if his injury lingers? Aiiiiie! Help! WHIR!!
