One of the guys on my league just picked up Garcon and placed Wayne on the bench... Now I know that the Colts aren't having their year, but my only back-up WR is Denarius Moore. I talked with the guy today and he seems interested in Ingram.
absolutely not, now if this was a keeper league then id say something else.
Indy needs a QB, Offensive line and a running back. This spells DISASTER for Reggie Wayne. Keep Ingram and shop him around to another team if you can but if not, he will give you average goal-line pts.
I have Fred Jackson, Ryan Mathews, Mark Ingram, Willis McGahee, Tim Hightower, Dexter McCluster and Stevan Ridley though... so I feel like I can spare Ingram. In this league I like to play 3 WRs because I have Roddy White, Dwayne Bowe and Brandon Lloyd. My only "back-up" is Denarius Moore... and he's pretty much worthless now that the other Raiders are coming back.
So with this in mind, should I still pass on the trade? or should I go for it? Is there another receiver that you think I could possibly trade for?
I'd make the trade. Reggie Wayne is still getting his targets (ranked in the top 10 still for targets), and I'd like to think that at some point, there would be some improvement at the QB position raising Wayne's production. At the end of the day, Wayne is still a viable #2 WR at worst. Painter didn't look terrible Monday night (better than Kerry Collins anyway), and it only seemed like he favored Garcon because of the screen passes (Garcon still only caught 2 balls). Wayne is still a top 30 WR right now, and I think things can only get better. Mark Ingraham is going to be, at best, a poor man's Pierre Thomas from years past. There's still a lot of RB in the backfield for NO, and you have to hope that Ingraham gets the goal-line touches to make him worth playing. I see Ingraham as nothing better than a flex play. Ingraham's usually stat line will be 10-15 touches a game (at best) for 40-60 yards, and you have to hope for a score to make him worthwhile. I'd rather have Reggie Wayne's top 10 targets over that.
Just a thought , I definitely dont think Denarius Moore is useless now that some of the other guys are coming back. Dude is a playmaker and I feel he will be a solid fill in option for the rest of the year, that being said i like this deal. Wayne gets his targets and he will be a solid WR2 going forward imo
I would take Wayne for Ingram. Wayne is a much bigger part of Indy's offense, and he's getting targeted often because the colts are always down. Ingram may have upside, but Wayne is more proven.
