Trade Dez Bryant for Jeremy Maclin *WHIR!*

Postby javens » Tue Oct 11, 2011 9:16 pm

So my pending offer is:

I get: Jeremy Maclin

for

He gets: Dez Bryant

I am slightly skeptical of the trade for a couple of reasons
1. Vick seems very fragile lately (although Romo does as well)
2. Dez against the New England secondary this week should mean big points, and I'm playing the first place (and roommate's) team.
3. I am also very deep at WR and very weak at QB, so I could use Dez as trade bait for a QB

This is my roster:

QB: Matt Schaub
RB: Matt Forte
RB: Fred Jackson
FLEX: LeSean McCoy
WR: Roddy White
WR: A.J. Green
TE: Jermichael Finley
DEF: Baltimore
K: Stephen Gostkowski

BENCH
WR: Dez Bryant
WR: Nate Washington
WR: Mario Manningham
RB: Willis McGahee
RB: LaDainian Tomlinson
QB: Jay Cutler
DEF: San Francisco

It's a 10 team, .75 PPR league

Do you guys think I should jump on this trade? I'm on the fence.

I don't do it.

Maclin is safer. he'll produce like this all year. Since you're not starting Dez right now. I roll the dice.

If he stays healthy even with Austin I think he could easily go off and be a top 5 receiver the rest of the year. Just watching him own Revis b4 getting dinged up in week 1. His upside is enormous, even with one big game you can prolly turn him into an elite QB.

Help with mine?

I am a Cowboys homer. I think Dez is a beast if he stays on the field. He can go up and get the ball in almost any situation and has proven it this year so far.

That being said, Dez has the potential to go off and be top 5 the rst of the year, IF he stays on the field. We all know he has the talent and ability to be top 5, he just needs the playing time, without injury.

Maclin is a little safer because he can stay on the field. He quarterback isnt as good a passer as Romo, and has been battling his own injuries. Dez has the ability to out produce Maclin, but Maclin you pretty much know will be on the field.

So its pick between Rick vs Reward. You can get more reward with Dez, but also more Risk.

I wouldnt do it, just because I am a Cowboys fan, and I like Dez.

I'd take Dez Bryant and RUN!

Don't need 2 DSTs by the way.

keep Dez. He's much more talented then Maclin and as long as he stays healthy he should out-produce Maclin the rest of the season.

I would hold onto Dez. When healthy, he has tremendous upside and can finish as a top WR. I feel that the potential difference between the two is so small that you should just hold on to what you have.

I wouldn't, Dez is more likely to have bigger games.

I'm not a Dez fan at all, but would keep him. This year...Maclin isn't even much more of a safer pick right now...if Bryant is healthy. If DB stays healthy, he's a top two rounds type of pick...and can be big time. Maclin can as well, but will always be the second best receiver there...Bryant is better than Austin talent wise...so I'd stick with Bryant...

Help if you can...

I dont see the point in doing this deal. Dez and Maclin are very similar WR's, both play in good offense, both opposite a really good WR1. Dez is an absolute beast, but Maclin did get 10 TD's last year and looks to be on pace for similiar numbers. I dont really see too much difference between these two, but if you prefer Maclin to Bryant then I have no problem with it. Maclin might be a little safer as it seems that Philly throws more then Dallas does, but I think week to week its a coinflip as to who's better between the two.
