WR2 help, not great options.

Postby HotHandz305 » Wed Oct 12, 2011 4:08 am

RIght now my receiving core is depleted and anyone decent seems gone.

My best options to replace V Jax for week 2 are.

David Nelson @ NYG
Michael Crabtree @ Det
Mario Manningham vs Buf
Mike Thomas @ Pit
James Jones vs StL

*EDIT->* Anquan Boldin vs Hou & Mike Williams (TB) vs NO *<-EDIT* See end of post

I listed them in order of who I think is best.

David Nelson will most likely get alot more targets with Donald Jones injured. Only bad part is Nelson was moved out of the slot where he was playing his best at and only had one catch for a 6 yard TD but he has a good QB.

Crabtree should also see some more targets with Josh Morgan injured. I'm not a huge fan of Alex Smith though he is looking better.

Manningham last week held on to his staritng job but still was surpassed in perfomance by Victor Cruz and wouldn't doubt if it happened again. I have him third simply if he keeps his job as WR2. My only big concern is that I think he has a very limited upside as opposed to the other two listed though if he start he may be a safe bet for mediocore points.

Thomas just doesn't really produce much but is an option and Jones is in a Green Bay offense with some many great receivers and not necessarilly near the top of the pecking order though he seems to be moving up slowly.

*EDIT* I just added Anquan Boldin and Mike Williams (TB) to the list because they were just dropped as waivers were processed and possible I could pick them up. Williams doesn't seem to be doing great and Boldin seems sub par so far but I think Boldin may have the best potential here.

Please leave a top 2 or 3 ranking if possible of choices here you find best

Obviously pick up both Boldin and/or Mike Williams if you can. If not, then your best option this week is probably Manningham because Buffalo's secondary will give up yards and the matchup has potential to be a shootout.

I'd rank your WR2 options in this order:
Boldin, Tampa Mike
Manningham, D. Nelson, Crabtree
James Jones, M. Thomas

Bump for more help please. I was unable to pick up Boldin and it seems as though its unclear who is better. There is also Torrey Smith who could work well wiht Lee Evans out again.

Alot of them either seem to be playing bad, being outplayed by others, or just really inconsistent.

At this point I think my best way to decide is who has the best chance of getitng a TD.

Right now I think Nelson prevents the best possibility of that and possibly Manningham after him. Any other advice?
