IMPORTANT! Pool wants to VETO my trade. What do u think??

Postby NFL1527 » Fri Oct 14, 2011 10:07 am

Hey guys,

I currently own Arian Foster, Matt Forte, and Calvin Johnson in my PPR keep 2 players keeper league. I recently acquired Arian Foster, thus people have been inquiring with me as to Matt Forte's availability as they'd like to make him their keeper since I won't be keeping him.

I received 3 competitive offers for him and this one down below was the one I ended up choosing as it beat out the other two. Team B stated before the trade occurred that he wanted to do this trade as he wants Ray Rice(his current keeper) and Matt Forte as his keepers for life and he'd be willing to beat out any offer to achieve this, which he ended up doing.

I give up: (Team A)
RB - Matt Forte (current #1 ranked back in my pool in terms of fantasy points)
Drop player (Titus Young)
14th round pick
16th round pick

I receive: (Team B)
RB - Fred Jackson (current #2 ranked back in my pool in terms of fantasy points)
WR - Miles Austin
3rd round pick
7th round pick

Anyways, please let me know if you think this trade is veto-worthy. My opinion is that it isn't even close to veto-worthy as I think only cheating/collusion are the only reasons to veto a trade, but I could be wrong I guess. My league settings are listed below so please view them at your convenience. Thank-you

I am in a pool with the following settings:
Each team keeps 2 players at any position.
Each reception = 1 point. Each yard gained = 0.1 points.

In terms of talent, I can easily see their argument. They see the backs as equal, so why should you get a WR1, and two significantly higher draft picks. Talent wise, it is veto worthy.

They obviously don't adhere to the only veto if it's collusion policy.

In my league we only have commish veto -- and the only reason its that way is because the only trade we believe in vetoing is one where someone is just giving away players. I think if your buddy wants to commit himself to a losing team for a couple years, then that's his prerogative.

I would veto it because what is the upside of Team B. He getting one player and getting to late round draft picks and give up an early and mid round pick.
