League Payments

Postby Chicago 2 » Fri Oct 14, 2011 12:43 pm

Hello Everyone:

I run a money league on Yahoo, I am tired of continually asking people to hand over their money and hunt people down, is there a better solution so that people can pay through some sort of website? What do you use? Looking for suggestions, I eventually collect it all but weeks in as opposed to when owners join.

I understand Yahoo is adding pay leagues next year but it doesn't look as if this is for Private Leagues and I want to continue using Yahoo.

Thanks.

I am starting a pay league next spring so I have been looking for sites to handle the money. I investigated LeagueSafe and found that they charge a fee. I also have heard that they offer a no charge prepaid visa to distribute winnings but have heard from others that it does not spend at all locations. My take on it is that it is too much trouble and charges a fee. If you can get your group to have the money in one week before the draft, you will be in good shape. No one will back out on you and you have the money ahead of time. There is always the problem of the Owners having a trust problem with the Commish holding the money. I am hoping I can work around that.

The problem with this is everyone has to have an active account AND they charge for higher dollar leagues. If this is less than say 100 then I'd do it.

I also recommend using a league treasurer that does not have any league power.
