Forte for Best and V Davis??

Postby Honeybadgers » Sat Oct 15, 2011 11:06 am

I'm in a 12 team PPR league and am being offered Best and V Davis for Matt Forte. RB is my strength so i'm not thrilled with losing Forte and i think Best is a little overrated so not too excited about him. I was pretty weak at TE but just picked up Ben Watson and think he'll be a consistent TE for me but obviously not at the Vernon Davis level.

He also has Ryan Matthews (on a bye this week) and A Hernandez. would you counter with those two for Forte?

My Roster

QB - E. Manning
RB- Forte
RB- McFadden
RB- Benson
WR - S. Holmes
WR - D Moore (Buf)
TE- Benjamin Watson (Cle)
D/ST - Bengles
K - Kasey

Bench
L Moore
E Decker
S Breaston
E Graham
S Ridley
D Carter (Indy)
Cassel

Addressing a tight end need is probably not worth giving up a stud running back. He's getting a lot of points for you. Stick with Watson or go with hot hands from FA.

No way, i wouldn't get rid of Forte, way to valuable in your lineup. Forget about TE, you should really focus on trading up for WR's to strengthen your teams balance.

I don't know. I personally think that I would do this trade.

Forte has had a great start, without a doubt. That being said, the Bears' offense is pretty poor. Cutler cannot pass worth a damn, and most defenses are not scared of the Bears' passing game, so they're stacking the box. Now with Best, look at all the weapons on Detroit's team. Stafford has been poised, Megatron and Pettigrew have been beasts, their Defense is top notch. Best will get his holes for him to snap off 50+ yard runs. Then you factor in Davis on the surging Niners' team, and I really like the trade.

At first, I was like no way I get rid of Forte but then I started thinking about it and it at least started to consider it. I'm kinda torn about asking for Hernandez instead of Davis. thoughts on that?

Painful you don't have any stud WR either.
What is available for WR?
I wouldn't even keep Breaston.

I would pass. Simply not getting enough for Forte.

Thanks for the help. I declined the trade and made a counter offer of:

I'd give up:
Forte
Decker (or Breaston or L Moore)
E Graham

and I'd get
J. Best
V. Davis
M Austin

That would be a great deal for you if he accepts it.....You would get a quality RB, top notch TE, and top 10 WR in that deal and only have to give up Forte. Decker can be replaced via waiver wire and Graham is just a fill in for Blount for a couple of weeks if that.
