theres 8 better but hes still a top 10 qb... hes just not top 5
Well, I've already mentioned that Kitna is one of the main reasons that the Bengals are were they are, which spells at least top 10 QB right there. Now I will turn to the stats side of it.
First of call, Vick doesn't deserve to be on that list because he hasn't started a game all season and isn't a top 10 QB right now. Also, here are some stats to make you respect just how good Kitna really is playing.
Steve McNair: 2743 yards passing and 20 TD's
Daunte Culpepper: 2526 yards passing and 17 TD's
Chad Pennington: 1390 yards passing and 12 TD's(limited playing time)
Donovan McNabb: 2259 yards passing and 9 TD's
Jon Kitna: 2825 yards passing and 22 TD's
Also, Tom Brady has 15 TD's and Bulger has 16.

Yeah he is definitely led his team.. and full respect goes to him to lead that scoring drive against pittsburgh with a minute to go last week. People are talking about him for MVP, he has to be a top 10 quarterback. he is throwing nice deep confident balls among 3 man coverage, and throwing them perfectly for touchdown passes. Why else is this team top of thewir division but because of Kitna. I doubt he will make MVP unless they go superbowl, but there is not many quarterbacks better than him right now

Hmmm... maybe. Based on that logic, the best QBs in football right now are T.Brady, P. Manning, S. McNair, T. Green, D. McNabb, D. Culpepper, J. Delhomme and M. Bulger. For 2003, I could probably live with that list.
But what about this spin on it? What kind of stats you think the QBs listed above would have put up had they been the QB for Cincinnati this year, playing is the NFL's WORST division (again), against some PATHETIC matchups (the Baltimore double-dip excluded)? 40 TDs?
Kitna has taken advantage of the opportuny to shine this season - I give him all the credit he deserves there - but it does not (in my opinion) make him BETTER than most QBs in the NFL.

First if all, McNair and Manning and in the same division: they both can't lead their team to first place. Secondly, it seems like the RB's/WR's have lead KC, Minny, and Carolina.
And then you have to factor in that Kitna has better stats than the majority of the QB's you mentioned were better than him.

And if you dont like Kitna's stats think of troy aikman.. he was a poor fantasy football player but was still one of the best quarterbacks because of the way he led his team. Kitna does the same. not as good as aikman though
