Bye Week RB Help

Postby GiantsFanSTL » Mon Oct 17, 2011 10:37 pm

(Sorry for the long post)

I need some help with getting a RB off waiver wire. Here is my roster;

STARTERS
QB: Tom Brady (BYE)
RB: Michael Turner
RB: Ahmad Bradshaw (BYE)
RB/WR: Anquan Boldin
WR: Mike Wallace - Steelers
WR: Jordy Nelson
TE: Rob Gronkowski
D/ST: Texans
K: Stephen Gostkowski
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
BENCH
QB: Cam Newton
RB: Tim Hightower
WR: Julio Jones
WR: Robert Meachem
TE: Aaron Hernandez
TE: Kellen Winslow
D/ST: Bears

I will be starting Cam Newton in place of Tom Brady, and Kellen Winslow in place of Rob Gronkowski. My problem is with the RB. I really don't want to start Hightower because of the situation in Washington, so I'm looking to drop someone for a RB while Bradshaw is on bye.

My top options:

Jackie Battle (KC)
DeMarco Murray (DAL)
Kendall Hunter (SF)
Stevan Ridley (NE)
Earnest Graham (TB)
Delone Carter (IND)
Montario Hardesty (CLE)
Tashard Choice (DAL)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

I'm really leaning towards Battle. I know that DeMarco Murray will likely be the starter against a terrible Rams team, but Battle seems like the best long-term solution for the future in case I need someone for the flex position, etc.

What do you guys think? I'm also planning on dropping Robert Meachem for whoever I pick up, btw.

Yes, Battle appears to have the most long term value at this point. Felix Jones suffered a high ankle sprain which can vary greatly in recovery times. I don't think he'll be back for at least a few weeks, which makes Murray a decent mid-term pickup with long-term potential if he plays well. Graham is another decent option so long as Blount is out, but as soon as he's back, I don't expect him to get too many carries. I might lean toward Battle over Murray.

Yes, grab Battle for long term, if you cant nab him try for Murray. Who knows maybe Felix will be out for a few weeks.

Help with mine? viewtopic.php?t=504297
