So I need a backup for Romo for the rest of the year. Hopefully I'll never play whoever I pick up, but I'm looking at rest-of-season value. Here's who's available:
Cassel
Kolb
Bradford
Smith
McCoy
Palmer
both Vikings QBs
both Redskins QBs
Painter
Gabbert
I'm thinking Cassel, Palmer or McCoy. Thoughts?

Why not just stick with Romo and use that roster spot for another position. Then if Romo does get hurt, Im sure most of those guys will still be there. If you feel more comfortable having a backup QB then snag Palmer now and see how he does in Oakland. They already have some good young talent at WR there.

I agree- Palmer on your bench lets him adjust for a week or two, and he's going to have an easier job with a power running game in place and some high-potential receivers. He would be a decent backup, and in fact I'm looking to add him this week to my team.

Lets be honest,
Your goign to start Romo the rest of the year 100% so it doesnt matter who your backup is. If you needed an injury replacement then it depends on matchups so there rank depends on who they play.

I agree, dont draft a backup that your not going to play. If you really need to go with Palmer.

agree with the majority. If you have to carry 2 QB's, i like Palmer as a upside swing.
If u can hold onto 1 qb...id stash someone else....Romo is starting every week.
