Cam vs. Cutler and others WHIR

Postby prince_45243 » Thu Oct 20, 2011 10:43 am

1) Cam Newton vs. WAS or Cutler @ TB (playing in London)

2) S. Smith vs. Was or VJax @ NYJ (wearing a D. Revis coat most of his game)

3) R. Torain @ CAR or B. Wells v. Pit (Beck's primary role will be to hand the ball to Torain vs. one of the worst rushing defenses in the league?)

Standard scoring. WHIR if you leave a link

Newton-Smith combo has been very effective this season. Go with the duo. Torain concerns me because of last week's poor outing against a weak Eagles run D. Beanie might be a better start...Steelers D hasn't been great especially against the run, but check his injury status.

Newton over Cutler. Seems to me that Newton is nearing must start status because he is the teams goal line back and they have an O-line built for running the ball. Also I try to avoid the London games because you never know what youa re going to get as far as field conditions and how the players are going to react to the travel. It also seems to me that Cutler has been realed in as far as pass attempts lately as Lovie finally realized he needs to get the ball to Forte as much as possible. (last week being an exception)

You said in my post you think that VJax will be mostly shut down by Revis, so I say go with your gut and bench him your option is much better than mine.

Torain vs Wells is a tough one. I am thinking about benching Wells also. We do know that ol crazy shanny likes Torain so he should see the majority of the snaps, and there should be plenty of hand offs with Grossman getting benched. Only problem is that Hightower should be close to 100% and he did open the season as the starter.

On the other side Beanie Will see all the carries in Az but has a much tougher matchup.

I dont know how to make a suggestion on this one. Maybe watch injuries sunday morning if Hightower is listed as #3 or emergency use again roll with Torain. IF it looks like a split in Was get Beanie in there and hope he can turn his guarenteed 20ish touches into something. I do have to say the last time I benched Wells against a good defense he went off for 100+ and 3 tds...

Thanks for help with mine. No doubt Cam and Smith. As for the Torrain vs Wells question, I'd go with Wells. Steelers seem tough because of the past. I think they're allowing an average of 100+ yards to opposing RB's and Wells gets all the touches. I'd gro Wells!

Cant bench Cam i think like 12 is his low and he is a STUD...Out of country i expect low scoring game.
S smith is a beast and so is Vjack, there both going to have a good game but i would go with V jack, Revis hype is a bit overblown imo big receivers do well, smith will also have a good game cant go wrong with either imo. I give the edge to Wells as well, we KNOW he will get the touches with Was who knows what will happen even with a horrible run D, play your studs man, i think we will see aton more hightower pass protecting beck, im staying away from all was rbs till one of them gets injured,,,hope this helps

Arguably Cam has never faced a passing defense as good as Washington except JAC who he struggled against. But that was in the rain and he's been awfully good at running the ball in as well. Still, I think that I'm on the Cam, Smith and Wells options.

Just feedback:

Cam 28.14 points vs. Cutler 10.9 points
S. Smith 14.9 vs. VJax 1.5 points
B. Wells 4.2 vs. R. Torain -0.5

Thanks to those posting opposing opinions to early ones on the wells vs. torain. Glad it's not just a bandwagon mentality :)

I hope you learned a couple of lessons:

1. Cam newton is an every week fanatsy starter

2.Always bench the WR that Revis is covering

3. Don't trust shannahan
