Drop Victor Cruz for M. Manningham?

Postby hangloos » Sat Oct 22, 2011 3:42 am

I currently have V. Cruz. Someone dropped M. Manningham to the waiver wire.

Should I stay with V. Cruz or drop him and pick up M. Manningham?

Or I should I pick up T. Jones or R. Grant.

My roster is below.

Leave a link. Will help with yours.

Ouch that's some pretty thin RBs especially given that you can start 3.

No, I would sit tight on Cruz. Cruz and Manningham play the same role in the Giants' offense and Cruz has demonstrated so far that he does a fine job of it. Manningham is a good pickup but I don't see who you would drop to get him besides maybe your 2nd DEF. I would try to trade a WR for a better RB, but good luck with that.

Yeah, my RB sucks. Shouldn't have traded Benson for Rivers... With Best out, I am hurting. But thanks for the advice. Trying to trade CJ for a top 5 RB.

I'd stay put with Cruz. MHam hasn't shown me anything this year, other than his uncanny ability to drop passes he should catch. Thanks for your help.

Is sit tight with Cruz and see what happens in the next few weeks.

Also, if you're trying to trade Megatron, you should get at least a top back and a fairly decent wr in return.

Same. See what happens next week. Cruz had a pretty bad game last Sunday and Manningham had a lot more targets/receptions. If Manningham outperforms him again, I'd probably drop Cruz.

At this point, I'd have to rate them about equal. Even if one looks significantly better this week I wouldn't be surprised to see the other get the bulk of the looks the following week. I like both players' ability and think each will have a few very nice, stud type weeks for the rest of the season. The problem is that they will both be very inconsistent unless one of them is injured. Gun to my head, I pick Manningham right now, since he looked better the past two weeks (even though his numbers were nothing great two weeks ago, he had a lot taken away because of luck/ penalties). So, I guess that's reason enough to make the switch. That said, your WR are ridiculous, so why not drop Cruz and pick up a high upside RB? Is Morris out there? If so, it's imperative you handcuff him to Best.

Best of luck and thanks for the help on mine.

I had cruz and dropped him for super mario. (It was hard especially because I'm a die hard Giants fan lol)

Here's why:
-Cruz played well when Mario was out and recovering
-The Giants have repeatedly said that super mario is the number 2
-Cruz had 4 targets lst week while MM had a team high 8
-He could have had 3 tis last week (one was a pass interference call where he was wide open, one was ruled down at the 1, one was ruled incomplete)
-Cruz has had crazy games, but all his touchdowns, while exciting, were very fluky
-MM is in his contract year and wants big $$
-Finally, manningham is just on the field more often

Best of luck man

Thanks for helping me. I like Manningham slightly more than Cruz for the reasons capp041 laid out. The RB's don't look like much help, either.

Cruz by a mile. Just compare their side by side statistics in the same offense together this year. Cruz has much more upside this year.

If you go by last year's fantasy stats this late in the season... YOU LOSE.
