Give up Gore to get Cam? WHIR

Postby Roy Dixon » Sat Oct 22, 2011 10:49 am

10 team yahoo league/non ppr/standard scoring
I own:
M Schaub - QB
R Fitzpatrick - QB
P Garcon - WR
B Marshall - WR
M Williams (TB) - WR
D Baldwin - WR
E Decker - WR
D Hester - WR
A Foster - RB
F Gore - RB
W McGahee - RB
S Greene - RB
J Witten - TE
R Gronkowski - TE
Bal - DEF
K - FA(according to matchup)

The offer has been proposed to me - Cam Newton for F Gore and a bench player of my choosing does that sound like a good deal? Gore has really been good for me. I need your advice.

Well, it depends on how many you start at each position. I like the idea of trading for Cam and Gore for him is probably fair, but I'm not sure that such a move would strengthen your team. You are pretty thin at RB and I think it would create a bigger hole there than it's worth. Also, I think Fitzpatrick will be very solid from here on out and Schaub seems a good bet to rebound. By playing the matchups with those two, you can probably squeeze out top 7-10 QB value on average for the rest of the season. The same cannot be said of Greene and McGahee.

No. Schaub and Fitzpatrick are good starters and Gore is arguably your best back. Trading for Newton would leave you extremely thin at RB.

Oh please, Gore is not better than Foster... I would not make this trade however. Schaub and Cam are about equals in my eyes.

Id decline Schaub and Fitz are about equal to Cam. As people get more film on him he will do worse this year.

Cam has a slight edge on the Qbs you have but not worth giving up Gore for.

Now you could counter his deal your Gore+Fitz for his Cam+RB what RBs does he have?
