PICK 2 OF 5 Players {Murray,SJax,Stew,LT,Earnest]

Postby NIGHTSHADE » Sat Oct 22, 2011 2:39 pm

I am playing the TRIBASH TOSS scheme this week which means not only do I have to put the three strongest RB's out there, they HAVE to catch the ball {2.5 pts per catch}

The # 1 position goes to Darren Sproles obviously;
Your job is to tell me the other TWO based on what you think.
I will provide my own quick quips.

DEMARCO MURRAY:
Pro: Very Dynamic; a lot of potential
Con: Hasn't proven anything yet and within a pass-first offense it seems

LaDAINIAN TONLINSON:
Pro: Is officially the starter this week and motivated to show himself vs San Diego
Con: Not being featured, he has had only 1 good game out of 5

STEVEN JACKSON:
Pro: When healthy, this is a no brainer
Con: Tough Dallas Def and will he be healthy and is Bradford healthy?

JONATHAN STEWART:
Pro: Statistically, the best option after Sproles
Con: That said, there is no major wow factor that should have me pick him over the others

EARNEST GRAHAM:
Pro: 2nd Best pass catcher & now the short-term starter
Con: Will receptions suffer in london against a good Chicago Def?

Thank you for your future in-depth responses

I think you're making a pretty easy decision into a hard one.

Let's rule some of these guys out first. LT and Stew aren't even the starters on their own teams and aren't exactly what I would call great PPR options. See ya, boys!

Murray...hmm. Could be good, but who knows how the Cowboys will actually end up splitting the carries. Has good upside, but way too much downside. In this case. I'm sitting him.

That leaves SJax and Graham.

You mentioned SJax's injury. Do you have some news that I haven't heard? His quad is fine. Start him all day.

Graham is a must-start in any league until Blount is back. He'll catch at least two or three balls (only two last week, but that was more of an anomally than anything) AND he will put up rushing yards. Start the old man.

Sjax and Graham.

That may be a distinct possibility.....BUT

LT IS starting this week. Now, whether that is a Rex Ryan ploy or perhaps LT doesn't have anything left in the tank AS a starting option is yet to be seen. Yes, high risk.

Stewart is getting more opportunities now. ...more of a 67% /33% split with DeShaun Foster. Will he get better? Perhaps not...we probably saw his ceiling already and we would take his numbers as they are now.

You are probably right with Murray...hate to miss out on anything good though.

They say SJax injury is fine, but he started the season healthy too. He is injury-prone..... plain & simple. Should that factor into my decision? Probably not...but one is weary just the same...I hope his receptions improve with Feeley as the QB

I will start Earnest as my definite #2 ........Thanks for your thorough analysis!

SJax is the best player of the bunch so thats a clear choice IMO. With 2.5 PPR Graham should be a gold mine. I think LT COULD have a good game going against his former team but that a bit of a little gamble. I think the best plays are Sjax and Graham without question.

No problem.

As a huge Jets fan, I am with you yhat LT is starting, but it's in name only. Rex has been saying all week that he needs to get Greene 25 carries. LT could still do some damage, but it would have to happen on fewer opportunities.

If Stewart is splitting carries with Foster, then DEFINETLY start him--- Foster hasn't been in the league in three years ; ). He's splitting carries with DeAngelo Williams. Neither guy does much because of Cam. He's not useless, but very low upside.

Good luck tomorrow.

Dallas has the #1 ranked run defense in the league
AJ feely hasn't started a game since 2007. Not a great outlook for receivers, making them very 1 dimensional.

I expect dallas to stack the box, making sjax useless.

I go with murray on potential, and earnest

Yes, that was definitely my concern with SJAX.
With Rams defense so weak this would allow Murray to have a good game if he gets the proper # of carries too.
