Waiver Wire Dilemma (WHIR)

Postby SumG » Sat Oct 22, 2011 4:04 pm

I'm in a bit of a pickle due to byes and injuries this week and may have trouble filling out a legal roster. 14-team PPR league. My roster is as below:

QB- Kolb
WR - Little, empty
RB - Battle, Murray
TE - Watson
Flex - Addai
K - Hanson
Def - Oakland
BN (active) - D.Carter
BN (injured and ruled out) - F.Jones, A.Johnson
BN (bye) - Vick, Nicks, Welker, Hernandez

Clearly, right now I don't have a 2nd active WR. However, the only player I'd consider dropping is Carter, who is an insurance policy in the event that Addai isn't able to play. However, Addai doesn't play until Sunday night and all players on the waiver wire cannot be picked up after the start of the early games.

Currently on the waiver wire are WRs like Henderson, Doucet, Benn, J.Simpson. My question is: is worth it to drop Carter for a WR from the motley crew available or should I hold on to Carter in the event Addai can't play (I would be able to switch Carter in)?

Leave a link and I'll try to help.

I like Benn the best out of all those Waiver Wire receivers. I'd drop Addai for him. Put Carter in at Flex for this week.

Dropping Addai is not an option. It's a 14-team league. A starting RB, even if currently injured is startable any given week.

Thanks for your help. You are in a pickle this week. Since Cincy on bye, Simpson would not be a good choice. Benn seems like the best option, followed by Doucet. No on Henderson, too many options NO, with Graham and Colston clearly the top 2. I would drop Carter and hope Addai goes, sounds like he may after practicing Friday. Even if he doesn't, Brown still in that Indy running mix, so not all Carter.

I guess it also matters how your opponent's roster looks. IF you think you can get away with not starting a WR2, then I think I'd hold onto Carter. If not, he's the odd man out & grab Benn.
