WR help...lots of options....

Postby nandaman » Sat Oct 22, 2011 6:39 pm

Hello all -
I am 2-4 in a 16 team PPR league. Very competative which makes the wire thin. Can start QB, 2 RBs, 2 WR, 1 TR, and 2 WT/TE flex (no RB flex). I'm set at QB and RB and have my two starting WRs set (Mike Wallace, Dez Bryant). I need advice with WRs 3/4.

Here are the WRs I have on my team (after Wallace and Dez):

Preston Parker
Plaxico Burress
Jason Avant

Here is who is available on the wire:
Dane Sanzenbacher
Damian Williams
Lance Kendicks
Brandon Gibson
Damian Williams
Titus Young
Andrew Caldwell
Derrick Mason
Brent Celek
Donald Driver

The question is - which 2-3 of all the guys (including the 3 on my current team) have the best upside for the REST OF THE SEASON? Would you drop Plaxico/Avant for any of the others on the wire and why? Looking for consitancy and upside. Thoughts?

Happy to help 100% with your questions...thanks in advance!

Good set of two starters.. really not a lot of help in the others at first glance.

Preston Parker is probably your next best bet. He isn't consistent, but sees an OK number of TD catches and is capable of putting up big numbers once in a while against weaker Defs.

Similar situation with Sanzenbacher, but he is probably a bigger risk.

Brandon Gibson is a more consistent player who will see a decent score each week, but nothing big.

It might be worth dropping Avant and playing the matchup, until a more reliable name comes along.

I would go after Celek - Philly was targeting him more last week, and despite the bye this week, he should be a viable target.

I like Parker for this week but for the season I would pick up Kendrick for sure. He has been coming on strong lately but might come to a stop this week with Bradford being out.

Wow, those are slim pickings! I'd keep what you have except I would consider Sanzenbacher, he's getting a fair share of targets, especially in the red zone and has 3 TDs. I'd pick him up for Plaxico.

Help with mine?

Keep Parker.

Drop Burress for Sanzenbacher..could take a flyer on Avant for Young.
