Standard scoring yahoo 10-team league. I am considering proposing the following trade:
I give -- Ryan Mathews, Brandon Marshall, Pierre Garcon I get -- Calvin "Megatron" Johnson, Vincent Jackson, and Mark Ingram
My reasoning is that I have four studly backs in Ray Rice, MJD, Fred Jackson, and Ryan Mathews - with only three starting positions for 'em (RB1, RB2, and Flex WR/RB/TE). Rice and Jackson have already had their bye weeks, so Ingram is only needed for depth in case of injury and to possibly fill in for MJD's bye (I also have Jonathan Stewart). Meanwhile my WRs have been pretty weak, and it would be nice to upgrade my starters in that area since one of the four RBs would ride the bench the rest of the way anyway.
Do you like the trade for me? He has shown an interest in MJD too, but I'd like to move Mathews since that damn Vulture Tolbert could slide back into his vulturing ways at any point. It's possible he'll counter asking for MJD instead of Mathews, or DeSean Jackson instead of Marshall or Garcon-- do either of those trades still seem alright for me? All help is appreciated. Thanks.
Mathews was outperformed by Tolbert. Marshall is off and on. Until a few weeks ago, Garçon was waiver wire material. He's Painter's favorite target but that doesn't mean much.
I see where you're coming from, and I'm definitely trying for a bit of a ripoff here (sell off Mathews before he and Tolbert become interchangeable). Maybe I was a little too bold here?... What if I try a trade focusing on Hakeem Nicks instead of Calvin:
I give--Ryan Mathews (MJD), Brandon Marshall, Nate Washington I get--Hakeem Nicks, Vincent Jackson, Mark Ingram
How about that with Mathews? And, same feelings even if I have to up it to MJD? Still asking too much?
Second trade is more realistic, though you would still would be getting the better of the deal. If you can pull off the first one, congrats. Otherwise, I'd try another trade proposal in order to get Calvin.
