TE Trade help needed

Postby ramble2 » Wed Oct 26, 2011 10:50 am

I'm in first in my league, and looking to upgrade my TE position to help give my team that extra little edge. I love my roster, and am looking to move Greene + Olsen for a TE.

My team (12-team league, non-PPR, bench in parentheses):
QB: Stafford, (Tebow)
RB: McFadden, Mathews, (Tolbert), (M. Bush), (Greene)
WR: A. Johnson, M. Wallace
Flex: S. Smith (CAR)
TE: Olsen

Would you rather add Tony Gonzalez or Gronkowski?

Gronkowski seems to have the bigger play capability, but his last three (scoring) weeks have been pretty thin. Anyone have any insight on why the lower numbers in weeks 4,5, and 6? Is it just a symptom of the NE offense that Gronk is feast or famine?

Here's the Gronkowski team roster:
QB: Ryan
RB: Mendenhall, Battle, Blount, Car. Williams
WR: Calvin Johnson, A. Brown, Lloyd, M. Jenkins
TE: Gronkowski, Clark

I've been offered Gronkowski, Williams and M. Jenkins for Olsen, Greene, and Tebow. I wouldn't make this deal, as I think Jenkins and Williams are barely rosterable. I am considering countering with Olsen + Greene for Gronkowski, though I don't know if he'll do it.

Gonzalez seems more steady, but with lower upside. He would probably be an upgrade for me, but I'm not sure it's enough to justify making the trade.

Here's the Gonzalez team roster:
QB: Kolb, Cutler
RB: M. Turner, D. Williams, M. Lynch, Moreno, Felix Jones
WR: White, Collie, Ochocinco
TE: Gonzalez

The owner told me that he'd take Olsen + Greene for Gonzalez + someone else. I'll probably just ask him who he wants to throw in, unless I hear good suggestions here.

Which deal do you think is better? Any ideas on other offers I might make?

gronk would be the player to have IMHO and if you could only give up green and olson. not to mention gonzo is on a bye this week. so you still have to get a te on the WW. good luck

If you can get the Gonzalez trade i would be happy with that. Hes going to give you solid points every week and is a huge redzone target. Now that hernandez is back in the mix in NE i expect gronks stats to slip.

Can you help me? viewtopic.php?t=505720

Gronkowski is the better player to me. I'd counter with Tebow for gronkowski, or greene and olsen for gronkowski. in the gonzalez deal, i'd target one of lynch, moreno, williams or felix as the throw in.

Thanks everyone. I've got a twist!

Another team offered me Romo + B. Marshall for Tebow + A. Johnson. I know, I know, but there's a trading interest there, and here's his team:

QB: Manning, Romo
RB: Rice, F. Jackson, Murray
WR: Bryant, Marshall, Garcon, N. Washington
TE: Hernandez

He clearly likes Tebow. How would you compare the Olsen + Greene for Gronkowski/Gonzalez to a Olsen + Tebow for Hernandez deal? What if I countered with Olsen + Greene + Tebow for Hernandez + F. Jackson?

What's my move here?

I don't really care for Romo but he is definitely better than Tebow. Tebow is terrible and Miami allowed him five good minutes which saved his fantasy week. I think I would do that deal.

Thanks for the help on mine

If you can do Olsen/Green/Tebow for Hernandez/Jackson I'd definitely make that move. I'm not crazy about Gronkowski, as I figure he's going to have these awful weeks in that offense and I'd hate for that to come during the playoffs. Gonzalez is more consistent and is an upgrade for you, so I'd lean towards him out of the two.

Thanks for the help with mine!
