Ethics question

Postby The Dude_ffc » Thu Dec 04, 2003 12:53 pm

Team A accidently drops Bledsoe then posts a message that he dropped all of his players just to be fair, clearly a bone-headed move. Then Team A goes on to say that he will pick them back up and he is sorry for the mistake, fair enough. Well, Team B decides he wants Peerless Price, Jimmy Smith, and Freddie Jones and he is the only team who grabs any of Team A's players. what should be done about Team B? Team A clearly stated that he would pick them back up so my only conclusion is that Team B is trying to cheat. Also Team B is tied with another team and if he wins he will make the play-offs, if he loses he is out. This is a public league run by CBS sportsline.

If he wanted his guys back that bad...he should of been the first guy there as soon as they got off waivers...You cant just say "hey I dropped my guy and Im going to go pick them up later". You gotta go and get them...when there dropped its war to get them first no matter if you want them back or not...

If you have the power as commissioner to remove those players from team B and put them back on team A, then that's what I'd do.

Well, I'm still really confused why he dropped the rest of his players.....

But, I think you need to take the players off Team B and place them back on A's squad.

How exactly do you "accidentally" drop anyone? Don;t you get prompted like 9000 times before it actually happens? Then you compound your error by liquidating the rest of your roster?

Tough cookies. Try to pay attention next year.

BTW, I didn't mean "you" - The Dude - as it was "Team B". I wasn't rippin' on you personally.

While stupidity like that is a crime, not putting the players all back on Team A would be the bigger crime.

Team A is obviously playing a few cards short but what I am saying is that a few other teams are going to be affected by Team B picking those guys up, especially if he wins this week. It does not really affect me directly but there are some angry teams in the league now. There is money involved.

did he say who he really wanted to drop and who he picked up. how long after he had slurpee brain freeze did he post his message. These questions are to measure his level of stupidity or intent. And why in the world would you drop everyone after a mistake? it all sounds fishy to me, as limited i am on info. none the less you should put all his players back on his team and lock it if you can.
