Looking to improve my QB situation for the long term, plus both Ryan and Freeman are on bye this week so I'm stuck with starting Ponder. I'm 6-1, but am in the toughest division (3 of the top 4 scoring teams are in my division). I froze Adrian Peterson, Megatron, and Mendenhall as my main 3 this year. Looking to trade Mendenhall for a QB upgrade, but he hasn't been very good so far this year so his value is low.
Anyway, thoughts on Mendenhall for Vick? I would then keep Vick as my 3rd keeper going forward. We can also trade future draft picks, so I thought about offering a pick instead of Mendenhall...
QB: Ryan, Freeman RB: Peterson, F-Jax, Delone Carter (R), Roy Helu (R) WR: Megatron, Garcon, Brandon Floyd, Mike Williams, Malcom Floyd, Jerome Simpson TE: Witten K: Rackers DEF: Titans, Jets (on BYE)
Wait until Mendenhall puts some strong games together. Vick is a little injury prone for my taste, but if that is the best you can do, take it as your other keepers are already studs. But ultimately if your team is doing well you can wait a little longer on Mendy.
I would possibly do this trade. I like Vick but I don't know If I would consider him my "Future" QB...He is very injury prone. I would consider keeping Ponder as my "future QB". I personally would keep AP, Megatron and Whitten as my 3 and Ponder as my Rookie keeper..that's just my opinion though. May not be what you want to hear.
QB - RGIII WR - R. Wayne, A.J. Green, Antonio Brown, L. Moore RB - M. Forte, Rashad Jennings, D. Murray, R. Mendenhall, J. Dwyer TE - J. Witten, A. Gates Flex - T. Richardson K - R. Gould DEF - Bears
It's interesting because I offered Mendenhall for Brady as my starter offer, and the guy said I was insane and that I needed to include my next three 1st round picks before he would even consider it...crazy town, but that does show that Mendenhall's value is low.
Just something I am thinking about. I like Mendenhall more than Vick long term, but at 6-1 I could push for this year.
Plus, with benches so deep, it's a HUGE advantage keeping two studs. Plus, most of the teams keep a QB, so I can wait on drafting a QB each year (i.e. a Joe Flacco in the 4th, which is really the 7th) while loading up everywhere else.
I would take a chance and grab Vick he's a pretty good buy low candidate right now. At the end of the day the only reason you stockpile talented young players is to win it all at some point in the future. If you're 6-1 play to win now.
