Grade My Trades!

Postby Chris Smith » Mon Oct 31, 2011 3:38 pm

I've made three trades this season, including one which is pending until all players unlock.
1. I traded Evan Moore and Ryan Grant for Mario Manningham in week 3.
2. I traded Plaxico Burress for Jackie Battle earlier this week.
3. I traded Sidney Rice and Victor Cruz for Mike Williams(TB), accepted on Friday.

Keep in mind, I picked up Sidney Rice and Victor Cruz on waivers(along with the majority of the WRs you will see below), traded them before their performances on Sunday and was looking for more roster flexibility and an overall upgrade at WR3 moving forward.

The first two trades were good, unless Plax gets hot... but I dont see that happening. The last trade could be iffy. Cruz is hot (while, granted, Rice has QB issues)... and Williams is up-and-down this year.

I like the first trade quite a bit, good buy low.
The second one I would have not of done because Battle looks more like a fill in for KC but its a fair trade.
The third trade I do not like at all for you. Cruz looks very strong so far this season and with Nicks being injury prone I like him as a WR3. I also believe that Rice is going to be a good matchup option on your bench. Mike Williams hit the 2nd year wideout wall and I really do not think he will bounce back this year. He is barley start-able and I think that will continue.
Thanks Franchise Fan for the sig!

Ya, again the last trade was done before this week when Cruz, before the Nicks injury, looked like he was fading into the background and Rice has been struggling all year. I know I overpaid a bit but it really came down to trying to make a slight upgrade as opposed to having to drop one of the receivers I have. I know T.O as of right now is extremely droppable but considering how thin my league is I'm happy with my wide-receivers and want to see if he gets signed in the next week or so. I figured I'd take a gamble on someone who was considered a top10 player at his position since at this point I'm playing with house money with a couple players I swooped off of waivers and I feel like Williams can only go up from here so I gambled on a buy low. Further, I like Manningham a lot more than Cruz going forward and I don't like to start two receivers from the same team for the most part.
