I'm torn between almost my entire bench on who to start at flex. Seems like everyone has there upside and downside to start this week. Here's my roster. A couple other quick points too that I want to bring up I put next to the players. Standard scoring NFL.com 8 team non ppr league.
QB - Brady
RB - Turner
RB - Sproles
WR - Jennings
WR - AJ Green vs PIT - Even though it seems sketchy to bench Green, Pittsburg is a great defense and he didn't have a stellar week last week. I'm loaded at the WR spot so I'm open to putting him on the bench.
TE - Gronkowski vs NYJ - Gronk has never had more than 19 yards receiving against the Jets, and the Jets have given up the 5th fewest points to Tight Ends this year. I feel like I would be depending on yardage more as Hernandez has been getting more of the red zone work. That said, he is the 2nd highest Fantasy scoring TE this year.
WR/RB - ???
K - Kasay
DEF - SF
Bench:
Cruz vs SF- Solid week last week - started him at flex. Having a great season but still unsure if Nicks will be back, that will definitely effect the decision. SF also a great defense as opposed to New England last week where he still didn't even score.
D Bryant vs BUF - With Austin out he seems like a good start but has struggled somewhat recently with personal issues as well. Not a great matchup either.
Julio Jones vs NO - Obviously a great WW pick up for me, although I'm pretty stacked at receiver I picked him up more as a defensive move where I can hoard good receivers. I'm not convinced he's an elite yet but could be persuaded to put him in, I don't think NO pass defense is too great.
Mendenhall vs Cinci - Mendy has seen exactly 13 carries in each of the last 3 games. That being said, he hasn't done bad. Cinci has a great pass defense and I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to mix him in a little more, but is it worth the risk? Maybe to start a RB at flex?
Jordy Nelson - Nelson has actually been amazing this year. Despite the fact that he's riding my bench, I probably would be doing a lot better if I started him every week. He has the most total fantasy points out of any of these options. He only got 5.2 points against the Vikings in week 7 but if he'd gotten a touchdown it would have been an acceptable week. Is it worth it to roll the dice starting Jennings and Jordy Nelson?
Green-Ellis vs NYJ - I don't like starting Green-Ellis, and I'm an New England fan. He's really inconsistent, but the passing game for the Pats has been exploited in recent weeks. He saw an increase in carries last week and taking the game away from Revis would make sense. Most importantly: He got 26.9 points against the Jets last time they saw each other. But does that mean Rex will be keeping an eye on him?
Gonzalez vs NO - A viable start at TE considering Gronkowski's matchup. Actually been trying to trade him for a solid week 11 RB starter while Mendy and Sproles are on Bye
