Coach Gary Kubiak revealed at his Monday press conference that Matt Schaub is dealing with a "significant" foot injury, and will be out for at least Week 12. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Schaub's injury is of the Lisfranc variety, meaning he's done for the year if it's a fracture. A Lisfranc sprain is an injury he could potentially return from before season's end, although it's probably unlikely. Matt Leinart will be under center following the Texans' Week 11 bye. Schaub will meet with a specialist later this week, and is without a timetable for a return. The injury comes right as the Texans are set to get Andre Johnson (hamstring) back following a six-week absence, and clouds the race for the top seed in the AFC. The Texans can be expected to lean on Arian Foster and Ben Tate more than ever, making Leinart a poor fill-in as a QB1. He's worth grabbing as a fantasy backup and in two quarterback leagues.
As an Andre Johnson owner, this scares me. Leinart crushed the value of Fitzgerald when he played in AZ. Anyone think I should trade AJ to unsuspecting owners? Thoughts on AJs value when he comes back?
The Houston Chronicle confirms that it is "expected" Matt Schaub's second opinion from Dr. Robert Anderson next week will reveal that Schaub needs surgery to repair his right Lisfranc joint. Schaub is holding out hope that Anderson determines he won't need surgery, but it's all but a foregone conclusion after the Texans' medical staff surveyed the foot extensively. Barring a miracle, Schaub figures to be placed on season-ending injured reserve just as the Texans emerge from their Week 11 bye.
Report: Texans QB Schaub done for the season ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Matt Schaub is done for the season with a Lisfranc injury to his right foot. Matt Leinart will be the Texans' starting quarterback the rest of the way, with rookie T.J. Yates backing him up. Our suspicion is that this is a Lisfranc fracture, an injury that would require surgery and up to 8-10 months of recovery time. Schaub will finish the season with a 15:6 TD-to-INT ratio and 248-yard per-game average, essentially evolving into a game manager of a run-first offense. The rest of the skill players in Houston all take at least small hits, though Leinart's insertion could get Arian Foster more touches because opponents figure to be more competitive in games. Andre Johnson will return after the bye as more of a mid- to low-end WR1 than truly elite fantasy receiver play. He should still dominate targets in Houston's passing game. The offense will remain the most run-heavy in football. Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter Nov 14 - 6:00 PM
I may be in the minority, but I don't think Leinart will struggle as bad as he did in Arizona. During Leinart's time at Arizona, they were a pass first team with a poor run blocking line and a near washed up RB in Edgerrin James. Houston on the other hand is arguably the best rushing offense in the NFL that uses the run to set up the pass. Not saying Leinart will run the offense as good as Schaub, but I don't think the drop off is as significant as people believe.

He'll go from a sure-fire top 3 starter every week to a lower tier WR1 until Leinart proves he can get him the ball. Another bonus is that during FF playoffs, Houston has a VERY soft schedule. I can't see AJ laying any eggs then.

I agree, but that offense is extremely run heavy. Am I crazy to trade Roddy White for Andre right now? The deals on the table. Roddy and Matt Ryan just don't look the same as last year IMO. I feel that AJ can't be any worse than Roddy right now, and he definitely has the upside.
Also, ATL is ranked 22 in easiest remaining schedule at WR while HOU is ranked 23 in easiest remaining schedule.

I wouldn't say you were crazy to make that deal think you were the one getting a steal
I have four FFB teams this season and counting Schaub I've a total of 6 injured QBs, and pending on Cassels injury and Manning's pride, I could have 5 out for the season. I have never had a season like this before. Schaub, drink some milk for cripes sake. Lisfranc. bleep bleep
I wonder how this will effect not only AJ but Adrain Foster the people? He has been going Sproles lately with his receiving yardage. Not sure if Kegstand Leinart can complete a pass to the RB.
I think, therefore I am. I think fantasy, therefore I am unreal?
