Turned out that hurt calf was in fact a broken leg. Lets see what Spiller can do with those carries.... :-o

edit: edited title so no one would panic when they saw this thread get bumped like it just did

Here it is...
Bills placed RB Fred Jackson on injured reserve with a fracture to his fibula, ending his season.
That was quick. We were surprised when Jackson was ruled out for Week 12 just four hours ago, and now his season is over. It's incredibly bad luck for the No. 3 overall fantasy back through the season's first ten games. Jackson was hoping for a raise after his breakout year. Instead, he's now more likely to have to play out the 2012 season for his $1.83 million scheduled salary. Fantasy owners that were quick to pluck C.J. Spiller off waivers today now have themselves a starting NFL running back. We'll see how long it lasts.

Pretty amazing how quickly this all happened. Surprised that they didn't leave him as doubtful until Friday and then IR him before the Jets game.

They just signed Tashard Choice as well. If Spiller can't get it done I can see him becoming somewhat valuable.
A win next week and all is forgotten.

Jackson has helped my fantasy team through some tough weeks this season, and even though I'm a Pats fan I'm sorry to see him (or any player) seriously injured. Competitors like Jackson make me love this game, and I wish him and his family well through the holidays.

2012 update:

Buffalo Bills camp: Fred Jackson happy, healthy

Written by James Johnson Staff writer

Fred Jackson said he has his health, no lingering damage from the broken fibula suffered last season.

Jackson has new teammates, maybe the kind that will help the Buffalo Bills end the team’s very long playoff draught.

Jackson, 31, has his money, a security blanket in the form of about a $9 million contract extension after six seasons as a running back in the National Football League.

That sounds like a list of things anyone connected to the Bills could shout about.

“It is,’’ Bills running back C.J. Spiller said. “With the key additions that we made, addressing some concerns that we needed to, picking up Mario (Williams) and Mark Anderson.
