ESPN playoff settings- divisions

Postby A Fleshner Fantasy » Mon Dec 05, 2011 3:17 pm

Default settings. 2 divisions, 6 teams make the playoffs.

Do the division winners automatically get the top 2 seeds (and thus first round byes)? I'm currently in 2nd place in my division (no chance at winning it), but I have a decent chance at getting 2nd overall in terms of record. If I can secure the 2nd best record, will I get the first round bye or will it go to the winner of the other division regardless?

If you do secure the 2nd best record, you will get a bye. I thought my league was the other way but when it is factoring who gets in, it complies both divisions...for example...

My league was 12 teams and 4 made the show, with my team being the only one who made it out of my division. Now watch the tiebreakers though too because that was another thing that can really affect who gets in.

If you end up in a tie for 2nd, based on what the LM chose for the seed tie-breaker, the priority changes with each selection.

If he picks...

Head-to-Head as the tiebreaker...the order after goes Total Points For, Division Record, Total Points Against.
(Intra) Division = H2H, TP For, TP Against.
Total Points For = H2H, Division, TP Against.
Total Points Against = H2H, TP For, Division.
