For those of you that don't have NFL network, and didn't see the injury, his left ankle turned to where his foot was almost completely turned around 180 degrees from the front of his body. There is no way that a tape job is fixing this.

at least he's got ten days off to rest it. I keep wondering about the stiller's medical staff and where they are when these decisions are being made. I'd expect a player of Ben's caliber and pay rate to want to play through the pain. I'd expect the team's sports doctors to say 'no' when it's not proper for Ben to do so. This is not the first time we've seen this w/ Ben and Pittsburgh IIRC. It's great that he has the steeltown toughness mentality but don't make a hurt into a bona fide injury that will take even longer to heal. Stillers probably could have beat Cleveville without anyone behind center anyway.

Unless you watched it, you cannot imagine the injury. I have not winced that much since watching LT break Theismann's leg. Ben's foot was facing 180 degrees in the opposite direction of where it would normally face. I actually figured that he snapped at least his anterior and posterior tendons.

When I saw him walk back on the field, I turned to my wife and rewound the game all the way to the injury, made her watch the injury, and fast forwarded. I told her "same guy" and we were both stunned.
