Playoffs QB to Start? Sitting Big Ben [WHIR]

Postby wad3g » Wed Dec 14, 2011 5:50 pm

I'm torn on who to start in the first week of the playoffs. In a 12-team league I surprisingly have a lot of options. I've pretty much decided I'll be sitting Ben Roethlisberger whether he plays or not since he is hurt and facing a strong 49er's defense. I'm leaning towards Mark Sanchez or Rex Grossman, but I'll give you the other options as well.

Our league point settings: Passing TD = 6 points, INT = -2

Options:
Mark Sanchez vs Eagles
Rex Grossman vs Giants
Joe Flacco vs Chargers
Matt Moore vs Bills
Josh Freeman vs Cowboys
Ryan Fitzpatrick vs Dolphins

I guess these are how I would personally rank these QB's, but nonetheless this is a difficult decision. This is a serious money league with close high school friends so I'm nervous.
QB: Ben Roethlisburger
WR: Calvin Johnson
WR: Dez Bryant
WR: Jeremy Maclin, Robert Meachem
RB: Darren McFadden, Michael Bush
RB: Michael Turner, Daniel Thomas, Ryan Torain
TE: Jimmy Graham

Can't believe I'm saying this... but go with Grossman. Could turn into a shootout.

I'd have to agree and go with Grossman. I'd still consider Big Ben, though...

Big Ben, hurt, against a good defense on MNF is just too risky to me. He could easily start, play a few series and just not be able to go.

thanks for help on mine

I would go with sanchez, he has been doing well lately, and while not a super sexy pick, i think he is better than your other options

Yeah I think I go Grossman there. More upside (I think?)

Lend a hand? I'm in pretty much the same boat...

I'm in a 12 team lead and I've got Big Ben as well. Have the #1 seed but it's all coming down to this. I am torn on what to do and don't nearly have as many options.

Big Ben vs. SF

OR

*not all of these guys are even guaranteed starts

C. Ponder vs. New Orleans
J. Locker vs. Indy
T. Yates vs. Carolina
R. Grossman vs. NYG
J. Skelton vs. Cleveland

What to do!
