Carson Palmer or Big Ben?

Postby McDuff » Fri Dec 16, 2011 7:35 pm

Pretty straight up question that i imagine some others are looking at also.

Do I start Palmer at Detroit or Ben Roethlisberger at SF?
Risky to go Ben on monday and then have him miss the game. Hate to face the playoffs with an emergency Charlie Batch pickup at the helm! so perhaps i should just risk another Carson palmer letdown?

Hey, just some reminders, Detroit will have Suh back on their defense and also keep note that Palmer is coming off a game where he threw four interceptions plus it's unknown if Jacoby Ford will be returning this game also if Ben does start there may be a chance where he won't finish if his ankle starts acting up, I honestly don't know but but if I was you, I would chance it and go with Ben because I have a funny feeling that Detroit's D will stop Oakland this weekend.. That's my suggestion but also I am new to Fantasy Football so just throwing some pointers out there since nobody has responded yet hope this helps :-)

Im in the same situation...

as of now, im sitting Ben....cause of injury and match-up.

I have Palmer and plan to start him...but am also considering (gulp) grossman vs Giants.

I think Palmer will play well cause Bush will keep the Lions soft run D honest and Moore is back as the deep threat. Also, a desparate Raider team at home should come to play. They have been embarrased the last 2 weeks and want to get that taste out of there mouths.

look for screens to bush and reece....and a couple deep hook-ups with Moore and DHB.

Palmer is my choice....good luck..

Thanks Raider Mike
But that pro-Carson Plamer advice sounds just a little suspect coming from a Raiders fan!
You have good points tho and I am worried that if Ravens win Steelers have no real benefit from risking Ben.
On the other hand I can't imagine him missing the game and I always argue that he plays his best when he is the most injured...
Some good points from United five also.
I am still undecided!

I also am not sure if the fact that I have Wallace at WR and my opponent has Antonio Brown makes any difference?
