Dynasty Trade - Am I nuts? WHIR!!!

Postby cspirk » Wed Jan 04, 2012 9:18 pm

I won my league in 2010 but things fell apart in 2011 (as you can see with my roster below). I'm thinking about making the following trade, but I'm not sure if I'm giving up too much. I don't have depth at RB but do at TE, so it makes sense from that standpoint I think... WHIR!!!

I give up:
Roddy White
Vernon Davis

I get:
Julio Jones
Roy Helu

My team (12 teams - QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 O-Flex)
QB - Rivers*, Moore, Gabbert
RB - C. Johnson*, J. Charles*, Hardesty, Battle, K. Bell, Ringer
WR - A. Johnson*, R. White*, D. Bryant*, M. Austin, P. Garcon, Burleson, Doucet, D. Alexander
TE - Gronkowski*, V. Davis, Keller

Thanks for the help on mine,
I would make the trade, you will not need Davis much with Hernadez. I like Jones more than White long term mostly due to age. Helu is a risk/reward player to go with Jones. good luck! ;-D

Helu is going to be a top 10 back next year. He is complete. Good pass blocker and reciever as well as a stellar runner, hopefully Shanahan realizes what he has. I would do this deal in a heartbeat. You have the Gronk and Julio was just a rookie with no training camp and will be solid for years to come. However, like was said above, Helu is high risk, high reward. Hope it helps a little :)
I drink because of the 1998 NFC championship game.

Not sure that Helu is a top-10 back next year (I hate Shanahan), but I like the trade all the same. I actually like Jones better than White going forward, especially in non-PPR leagues and leagues that reward big plays. And after Gronk and Graham, TE is a pretty deep position... Vernon Davis is just another guy at the position IMHO. So in my eyes, you are trading Roddy White for Jones/Helu... I like that trade a lot for you.

Well you had a team with some bad luck, Charles with the acl, CJ crapping the bed, AJ missing most of the year and White not really producing until the end of the year. But if you can trade and get a young top rb you will be in great shape. I think that I would also wait until the draft and free agency to see how thing play out, but overall I really like the trade for you. Good luck.
