2012 Keepers - which 6? (WHIR)

Postby VIKINGFAN » Tue Jan 10, 2012 1:50 pm

In a deep roster 12 team head-to-head league. We start the following weekly, 2-QB's, 2-RB's, 4-WR's, 2-TE's, 2-K's, 2-DL, 2-LB's, 2-DB's with a 12 man bench.
Our keepers move up ever year by 4 rds, so its got a semi-dynasty flair to it. For example, Leshoure (19th rd keeper) would move up to a 15th rd keeper in 2013, and an 11th in 2014, etc.

Which 6 to keep?

MY KEEPER OPTIONS: (Player) (draft pick lost if kept)
QB - C.Newton (CAR) 4th
QB - A.Dalton (CIN) 4th
RB - D.McFadden (OAK) 6th
WR - S.Rice (SEA) 8th
QB - J.Freeman (TB) 8th
RB - J.Starks (GB) 10th
TE - K.Rudolph (MIN) 14th
K - J.Kasay (NO) 15th
WR - J.Simpson (CIN) 15th
WR - D.Thomas (DEN) 15th
WR - D.Heyward-Bey (OAK) 15th
RB - M.Leshoure (DET) 19th

Newton
DMac
Freeman
D. Thomas
Heyward-Bey
LeShoure

All these guys represent tremendous value in your scoring system (well all but maybe Freeman, but I would rather keep Freeman for the cost of an 8th than Dalton for the cost of a 4th round pick).

I am assuming you can't take 2 guys from same round. If thats the case I'd go:

Newton
McFadden
Freeman
Leshoure
Rudolph
DHB

Yes I can protect guys in the same rd. just means they would move up a rd. example Thomas would be a 14th rd pick lost, which so happens to be Rudolph's draft pick lost slot.

Thanks

RB - D.McFadden (OAK) 6th

WR - S.Rice (SEA) 8th
WR - D.Thomas (DEN) 15th
WR - D.Heyward-Bey (OAK) 15th

Rice has too much potential and you start 4 WR so you need to play some risk reward. Rice at max value is a low end #1 WR! DHB will be good WR2 for years to come and Thomas has #1 WR upside. Can't ignore that. Leshoure good goal line back for next year (think MBIII or Jacobs of years past).
