Real-Time API/XML Files

Postby ruffner008 » Wed Jan 11, 2012 7:27 pm

Hey all-

I've been looking into starting up my own fantasy sports website and have been scouring blogs and forums across the web trying to figure out the best/cheapest/easiest way to legally obtain up-to-the-second sports scores/stats to feed into the site. So far, I've determined that STATS is the provider for the majority of the major sites (ESPN, Yahoo, etc), but after speaking with their Account Manager, they're way more expensive than I imagined. What are my other options here? If I'm going to make this a commercial site, I can't afford to risk anything shady, but the rates STATS would charge are way over my head... Help?

Don't you think that if there was a better/cheaper/easier way to legally obtain up-to-the-second sports scores/stats to feed into site that the majority of the major sites (ESPN, Yahoo, etc), would also be using it?

Build in a human interface and pay some illegal immigrants that you find at the local Home Depot to manually punch in the stats that they take off one of those other sites...
