Fisher heads to St. Louis/coaching changes thread

St. Louis' offer might have trumped Miami's for several reasons. The Rams have former No. 1 overall pick Sam Bradford at quarterback, the No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft and a favorable salary-cap situation. In addition, chief operating officer Kevin Demoff is the son of Fisher's agent, Marvin Demoff.

Fisher was getting alot of hoopla as to where he'd go, but his record is not much over .500, his playoff record is under .500, and lost the one SB. Is he worth the hype?

Fisher spent 17 years as the head coach of the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans, compiling a 142-120 record. He has a 5-6 record in the postseason, taking the Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV in 1999, which the team ultimately lost to the St. Louis Rams.

gotta be GM related. miami is so much closer to being a contender. miami is a QB away while about all the rams have is a QB (and i'm not even sold on him personally).

And Caldwell gets the boot from Indy, no surprise here.

cleaning house in Indy, just like at the start of the Manning era. New coach, new GM, new QB next year is looking like a certainty, and I'm growing more and more to believe that we've seen the last of Peyton behind center in Indianapolis.

Rumor mill has it that, among other candidates, Indy is looking at Jim Tressell?

http://www.indystar.com/article/2012012 ... olts-plans

Tressel's 10-year stint as Ohio State coach ended in embarrassment. He resigned May 30 amid NCAA violations that included his unethical conduct.

Tressel, 59, had a 106-22 record with the Buckeyes, but 12 wins in the 2010 season were vacated by the NCAA. The Buckeyes won the 2002 national title. In December, the NCAA hit Ohio State with sanctions, including a one-year ban from bowl games. Tressel is effectively prohibited from taking another Division I college coaching job for five years.

Spags to the Saints to be the DC there.

ESPN wrote: Former St. Louis Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo has agreed to become defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

I'd like to see it go to Gregg Roman since they are taking Luck most likely, I think he would need a strong DC though as he is relatively inexperienced in the NFL.
