Okay so our league just finished its 1st year ever. Before the season started we all agreed we would do a keeper league, but what that meant not everyone was sure of. We werent explicit with the keeper league rules. At one point it was 2 player then 3 then back to 2 then it was you give up your first rd picks (if you keep 2 players you give up first two 2012 pick for each of the players you keep now its you keep and give up the rd pick that the player was drafted in worst being a 7th (so a Gronkowski 9th rd pick if kept would forgo at best a 7th rd pick in 2012, Ray Rice in the 1st would give up a 1st in 2012).
Anyway a few team owners have forecasted there team will in there eyes start off at a disadvantage compared to some other teams with the current keeper rules of give up the pick in which rd they were drafted.
The argument is that team owners would have acted differently with their players had they known the exact keeper rules. For example if they were out of contentin for playoffs they mabe would have kept players like Victor Cruz, Gronk etc....
The league is also looking to add 2 more owners who could possibly be at a disadvantage since most top 20 caliber players will potentially be off the board already...
What are your thoughts? Should the rules have been totally explained before the season so that everyone can act accordingly? Areguments are that the top 2 finishing teams (one of which is the commish and trying to set these rules) have a great advantage with current keeper rules....
Thoughts?
