Stay put, I think you can get more for Cam Newton due to his upside with his running ability. This years draft is also deep so the 1.09 will get you a nice player. good luck!
Not sure how you can justify passing on this deal? You have the best QB being basically handed to you, and he's on of the most explosive offenses in the league. I would counter with a draft pick in return, but I would take this trade without a doubt. And out of curiosity, who scored more fantasy points in your league last year, Rodgers or Newton?
I agree that Newton offers a dimension that most QB's don't offer, but how many of them has the NFL truly seen succeed using that type of play? Vick? How many games has he missed due to injury? A scrambling QB like Newton is rare, and may not be seen again, but the risk of injury to him IMHO is greater than with Rodgers. Steve Smith isn't getting any younger, and a #2 WR didn't really show up this past year for him, which to me increased the number of his carries and rushing TD's. Even if the Panthers DON'T address that, I belive his numbers will drop from this past year. If it were me, no way I pass on Rodgers.
Devil Doc. Cam Newton still threw for 4000 yards with all those rushing accolades. He's BETTER than Vick. He's the most complete the QB the game may have ever seen and it was no fluke. What is truly scary is what you said the lack of several playmakers. Imagine if he had a welker, jennings, gronk etc lining up alongside Smith. Brandon LaFell is heading into his third season and you know what that means and he has that big play ability a la Washington etc. I think he will step up nicely.

Rogers scored 403 points and Cam scored 376 points this season. Rogers and Cam finished 1 and 2 in scoring.
I do the deal and take Rogers....you know what you have there......
Cam is unique...but.....2nd year qb's....the Rb's he has....I don't think you can coount on him scoring that many rushing TD's again.....5-6 a year, still has issues throwing the football......
Went ahead and worked out a trade for Rodgers. I gave Cam/S. Holmes for Rodgers/3.10. I'm not too high on Holmes so didn't mind losing him but real happy to pick up Rodgers.
My main core is Rodgers, Eli, Forte, Moreno, McGahee, Blount, Roddy, Djax, L. Robinson, Knox and Gronk. Need to add some depth but getting there.
