Raiders release Kamerion Wimbley

The Raiders bid an expected farewell to linebacker and sack-leader Kamerion Wimbley on Friday but also confirmed their first two free agent acquisitions -- as well as potential starters -- in Houston guard Mike Brisiel and St. Louis cornerback Ron Bartell.

The Wimbley move was made in advance of a deadline that would have triggered $17.5 million in contract guarantees, with the Briesel and Bartell signings announced later in the day.

This is pretty old news seeing as he has already signed with the Titans. He gets a bump up in IDP because he will be a full-time DE. As a die-hard Raider fan I believe he was overrated. He had 7 sacks last year but 4 of them came against the Chargers 3rd string LT. Despite his sizable frame, he is a non-factor on running plays. Unless your league rewards heavily for sacks I would have him as a #3 DE spot starter type of guy.
