Britt to sit at the start of Titans training camp, possibly longer

Kenny Britt was slowed by injury at the start of last year’s training camp.

He’ll start this year's at a virtual standstill.

Britt and rookie safety Markelle Martin each were placed on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list for the start of training camp. The first practice, which is closed to the public, is Saturday. The first one that is open to fans is Sunday.

A spot on the PUP list does not necessarily affect a player’s status for the start of the regular season. Britt and Martin are on it because of issues related to knee injuries and will come off — and be free to work out with the rest of the team — once they pass physicals.

Titans coaches and medical staff were cautious with Britt last summer because of the lingering effects of a hamstring injury sustained during the 2010 season. He sat out occasional practices and played in only one of the four preseason games … and only briefly in that one.

He caught three touchdown passes and averaged 135.5 yards receiving through the first two regular-season games, however. He caught three more in Week 3 before he sustained a season-ending knee injury, which required a pair of surgeries. Recently, he also underwent a minor procedure on his other knee.

Seven incidents involving police since coming into the league in 2009. Wow. I guess if he wants to set a record, he could set the record for arrests and suspensions.

In his defense, he's had a lot more time than the typical NFL player to get in trouble since 2009 considering how much time he's spent injured rather than practicing/playing. Of course, neither of those facts makes him a sensible fantasy pick....

Kenny Britt publicly complained about a team-imposed fine on his Instagram account Wednesday.
The Titans won't love this. Britt posted a picture of his $9,915 fine for missing a rehab assignment on Tuesday. "Yu gotta be (expletive) kidding me.. walk back to dis.. Don’t dey know I have kids," Britt wrote. "I’m tired of did (expletive)."

That pole that I aint touching him with continues to grow..

I think it was just once this summer, but it ran his tally to 8.

Pretty sure he has had 2 knee surgeries since last season though.
