I am not sure which benefits me better under the anti franchise no cap hit drop, but I want to dump both joseph addai and thomas jones, so I am guessing that since addai has the bigger contract it would benefit me to dump him here, under the anti franchise no cap hit, so...

Joseph Addai
RB NE Patriots
5th of 6yr contract
4.5 million salary

anti franchise no cap hit

Sorry I missed your call earlier. I'll call you tomorrow about this because Addai is someone that you can cut for free...without using the AFT. All players on your roster that have their "contract year" higher than their "total years" is someone that you either need to re-sign or cut. The maximum length contract is 5 years, so Addai is in his 6th year on your team...but he had the max 5 year contract. So these are the players on your roster that you either need to re-sign or cut (at no cost...and not using the AFT):

Addai
M.Bush
J.Charles
A.Johnson
M.Wallace
Daniels
E.Moore
Gostkowski
T.Cole
W.Smith
Angerer
T.Hali
Woodyard
Bethea
M.Burnett
B.Scott
D.Whitner

When you're ready, you post the players that you will be re-signing & not re-signing in this thread:

viewtopic.php?t=513384

You can use your AFT on T.Jones if you want, but you only get a cap hit of $150K if you cut him without the AFT. I'll explain more tomorrow when I talk to you. ;-D

You don't need to use your AFT on Addai because his contract expired last season. Out of the players that you listed, T.Jones is the only one eligible for the AFT (all the other players listed are either re-signed or not re-signed). ;-D

So do you want to use your AFT on T.Jones?

Also, I'll have to do some math just to make sure you can afford to re-sign all the players. ;-D

Yeah, you can't re-sign all those players. Even if you use the NTC (no trade clause...saves 25% of the base salary listed in the 1st post of the "re-signing" thread) on all 15 players, you'll be at a little over $93M (our cap is $88M). You'll need to "not re-sign" some of those players just to get under the cap...and if you want to be active in the FA auctions, you'll have to "not re-sign" even more of those 15 players.
